Job Title: IT Communications Specialist
Job Type: Contract
Job Location: Tampa, FL (Remote)
Job Responsibilities:
The IT Communication Specialist is responsible for bridging the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. This role is responsible for crafting clear, concise, and engaging communications that support IT initiatives, enhance user understanding, and promote technology adoption across the organization.
- Internal Communication:
- Develop and distribute IT-related announcements, newsletters, and updates.
- Translate complex technical information into user-friendly content for various audiences.
- Coordinate communication plans for IT projects, system changes, and outages.
- Design compelling presentations using various design software such as Canva and PowerPoint.
- User Support & Engagement:
- Create and maintain user guides, FAQs, and training materials.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to ensure consistent messaging and timely updates.
- Conduct user feedback surveys and analyze results to improve communication strategies.
- Digital Content Management:
- Prepare presentations, reports, and executive summaries for multiple projects
- Manage IT content on internal platforms (e.g., intranet, knowledge bases).
- Ensure content is up-to-date, accessible, and aligned with branding guidelines.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IT communications, technical writing, or a similar role
- Strong understanding of IT concepts, systems, and terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams), and content management system
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to thrive in a diverse, collaborative environment with geographically dispersed teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ability to adapt to changing priorities
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with change management processes and corporate communication.
- Experience with Canva is a plus.
- Graphic design or multimedia content creation skills are a plus.
