Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Azure Data Platform Manager to lead our data engineering team and oversee the end-to-end design, governance, and management of our data platform on the Azure cloud.
As an Azure Data Platform Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping our data strategy, architecture, and processes while ensuring the seamless operation of our data solutions. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Azure data services, strong management capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality data solutions.
Responsibilities:
Data Platform Strategy: work with our Enterprise Architecture team to define the organization’s data platform strategy, aligning it with business goals and future growth plans.
Architecture Design: Lead the design of scalable and efficient data architectures on Azure, encompassing data lakes, data warehouses, real-time data pipelines, and hybrid solutions.
Team management: Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, provide technical guidance, and performance feedback, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Data Integration and ETL: Oversee the development of data integration and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, ensuring the reliable and timely movement of data across various sources and destinations.
Streaming and Real-time Data: Drive the implementation of real-time data processing solutions using Azure Stream Analytics or other relevant tools, enabling immediate insights from streaming data sources.
AI/ML and Generative AI Integration: Drive the integration of Generative AI and Machine Learning models into the data platform using Azure services or similar tools, enhancing data-driven decision-making.
Data Governance and Security: Establish data governance policies, oversee data quality, and enforce security measures to protect data assets and ensure compliance with Information Security policies.
Cloud Cost Management: Optimize cloud resource utilization and costs by designing efficient data processing workflows and regularly monitoring and managing Azure cloud expenses.
Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and enhance the performance of data platforms, recommending and implementing improvements in query optimization and data processing.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional data teams, including data scientists and analysts, to understand data requirements and guide the delivery of solutions that empower data-driven decision-making.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers related to data tools and services on the Azure platform.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the data platform architecture, processes, and workflows. Generate regular reports on system performance and improvements.
Stay Current: Keep abreast of the latest developments in Azure data services, cloud technologies, and data management best practices, integrating relevant advancements into the data platform.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
Extensive experience designing and managing data platforms on the Azure cloud
Proficiency in Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Stream Analytics, and Azure SQL Database
Strong management skills with a proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams
In-depth understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, including model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
Successful track record of translating business problems into AI/ML solutions.
Knowledge of MLOps, model versioning, and continuous integration for AI/ML models is a plus.
Expertise in data governance, data security, and compliance within a cloud environment.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Scala for data manipulation and transformation.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a solution-oriented mindset.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
Effective communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams.
