Data Science Director:
Our client is a premier workforce solutions organization, fulfilling comprehensive staffing, technology, culture, data, and talent experience needs throughout the United States.
The Data Scientist Director is part the Workforce Solutions department and is responsible for leading a team of data scientists and analysts to leverage data-driven insights that drive business growth and innovation. They oversee the development and implementation of advanced analytics models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical techniques to extract actionable insights from complex datasets. The Data Scientist Director collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions and effectively communicates findings to key stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists and analysts.
• Lead a team to interpret, analyze, and provide ongoing data driven reports related to talent compensation, bill rates, cost savings, hiring costs, retention, and other Workforce Solutions
• Develop and integrate technology such as dashboards to clearly present analytical discoveries and business development ideas to senior leadership and clients.
• Analyze market trends and competitors to assist in business development efforts.
• Manage extracting data and building reports for internal employees, external employees, and clients from behavioral index surveys.
• Meet with senior leadership to discuss sales strategies.
• Support sales with client meetings and initiatives by proposing solutions and strategies to business challenges.
• Oversee the development and deployment of predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical techniques to analyze complex datasets.
• Evaluate model performance and refine methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of analytical solutions into existing systems and processes.
• Participate in preparation for sales calls.
• Attend and participate in sales calls with clients.
• Travel to client meetings, as necessary.
• Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Construct and present strategic ideas to senior leaders during strategic development sessions.
• Data wrangling/mining and web scraping.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in data science, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
• Willing and able to travel 3+ times a month
• Experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with diligence and accuracy
• Moderate proficiency in Extract, Transform, Load methodology
• Moderate proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to write, understand, and debug web scraping code
• Knowledge of PowerBI/Tableau
• Able to be flexible, thrive in a collaborative environment, and adapt to shifting needs, evolving priorities, and urgent situations that arise
• Able to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks
• Able to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations
• Able to navigate and translate analytical reports into non-technical, lay terms
PREFERENCES
• 4-year degree in STEM related field
• Advanced degree in Forecasting, Mathematics or Modeling
• Experience in Workforce Solutions, Business Development, or Sales
• Knowledge of R
• Healthcare Staffing experience
