Overview: Gravity is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong technical writing skills to act as the primary liaison between department stakeholders and our client’s in-house development and testing teams. We are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented professional who can effectively bridge the gap between business objectives and technical solutions. As a Senior Software Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions aligned with business goals.
This position is ideal for someone who excels in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and thrives on collaboration. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working closely with development and technical teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable specifications, including user stories, process flows, and wireframes.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Team Leadership & Agile Transition:
- Guide teams with varying Agile experience levels in transitioning from Waterfall to Agile methodologies.
- Conduct daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and backlog meetings.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and contribute to best practices and process improvements within the team.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Act as the primary contact between internal and external business representatives and the development/ testing teams.
- Address executive questions and resolve stakeholder conflicts.
- Requirements & Documentation:
- Work closely with development and technical teams to translate business needs into clear, concise, and actionable specifications, including user stories, process flows, and wireframes.
- Develop and document Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Gather and specify business requirements from multiple departments.
- Analyze business functions, and create detailed system specifications, and UI designs.
- Identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and design new processes.
- Build workflow charts and diagrams to illustrate system functions.
- Develop and execute test plans, validate solutions, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
- Evaluate existing business processes and identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and enhancement.
- Analyze data trends and generate reports to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure successful project outcomes that align to the business goals.
- Support the Agile transition and monitor project progress.
- Maintain visibility into project progress for all stakeholders.
- Ensure accountability and prevent bottlenecks in the development process.
- Technical Skills:
- Utilize knowledge of Agile models, project tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Extensive Experience using design tools (e.g., Figma, FigJam) to build click through models.
Required Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, with a focus on software solutions and systems integration.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.), data modeling, and systems analysis.
- Proven ability to create workflows, detailed specifications, and management reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and critically and most importantly creatively.
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), PMP (Project Management Professional), and/or relevant Agile certifications.
