About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Security Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, application security, and security operations. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our security posture while embracing new technologies and methodologies. This role provides a great opportunity to be mentored in IT business decision-making while contributing to routine security operations and innovative security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain security solutions to protect our network, systems, and applications.
  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement security policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents, alerts, and logs to detect potential threats.
  • Assist in the evaluation, deployment, and maintenance of new security technologies, tools, and controls.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Participate in security operations, including incident response, investigations, and root cause analysis.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and security best practices.
  • Proven experience in application security, including secure coding, vulnerability assessments, and remediation techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Ambitious, growth-oriented mindset with a desire to enhance security processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, while being open to mentorship in IT business decision-making.
  • Experience in security operations, incident response, and security monitoring.

Nice to Have:

  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
  • Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, OSCP, GIAC).
