Job Title: Senior Security Engineer
Location: Nashville / Hybrid
Job Type: Full-Time – Contract to hire 6 months

About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Security Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, cloud security, and application security, specifically with Azure. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our security posture while embracing new technologies and methodologies, particularly in the cloud and DevSecOps space. This role provides a great opportunity to be mentored in IT business decision-making while contributing to routine security operations and innovative security solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain security solutions to protect our network, systems, and applications, with a focus on Azure cloud environments.
- Perform security assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and implement security policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Continuously monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents, alerts, and logs to detect potential threats.
- Assist in the evaluation, deployment, and maintenance of new security technologies, tools, and controls.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Participate in security operations, including incident response, investigations, and root cause analysis.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including security configurations and best practices.
- Proven experience in application security, including secure coding, vulnerability assessments, and remediation techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
- Ambitious, growth-oriented mindset with a desire to focus on cloud security and DevSecOps.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, while being open to mentorship in IT business decision-making.
- Experience in security operations, incident response, and security monitoring.
Nice to Have:
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
- Cloud security certification (e.g., Azure Security Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Security Specialty).
