Job Summary:
The Global Procurement and Vendor Management Team (“P&VM”) is seeking a Software Asset Manager to join the team. This role will report to the Procurement Operations Team and will be responsible for software asset management, working in tandem with the Global Category Manager for Information Technology and business stakeholders who require software licenses and entitlements. The role will ensure the software asset database is current for reporting and cost allocation purposes, and the candidate will have broad information technology knowledge. The ideal candidate will deliver strong results by ensuring entitlement compliance, identifying potential efficiencies and cost savings opportunities within the day-to-day management of licenses, and enabling a simplified, automated process.
As a Software Asset Manager for Barings you must have proven experience in the IT asset management space. Since you are part of a global unit, with global responsibilities, you will need to actively cooperate with various stakeholders and navigate with ease in a transformational environment. You also are expected to have a strong focus on quality and a personal drive to reach the objectives defined by our team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the governance of the software asset management life cycle and reporting data that is captured throughout the life cycle to improve the management of licenses/entitlements
- Experience with the Purchase Order process
- Licensing advisory – identify risks, potential savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing and services
- Enforce license/entitlement compliancy, perform internal audit and inventory follow up
- Perform regular status updates about the software asset management situation (volumes, utilizations, KPIs, cost allocations, etc.)
- Proven professional history within license management and administration a plus
- Experience in working in a global context, cross cultural awareness and skills
- Experience with ServiceNow and SAMPro platform a plus
- Technical background is an asset
- Experience with Procurement & Vendor Management is an asset
