Job Title: Systems Engineer/ Junior DevSecOps Engineer
Location: Hybrid onsite / Dania Beach, Florida
Type: Contract-to-Hire (6-months)
Position Summary:
The Junior Engineer, Product Release (Junior DevSecOps Engineer) is a key member of the Technology team, focused on automating and optimizing build, release, and security processes. This role involves managing CI/CD pipelines, maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC), enforcing security best practices, and supporting cloud-based product deployments.
In addition to release engineering, this role shares responsibility for maintaining Google Workspace across the organization and managing Apple devices through Jamf. The Junior Engineer also assists with service desk support, helping team members troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
The ideal candidate is a fast learner with a strong ability to acquire new skills and tackle complex challenges. They bring a blend of software development, IT operations, and security expertise to ensure high-quality, repeatable, and scalable product releases while contributing to IT operations and end-user support.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support design, code, debug, and document of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) process using industry standards adjusted for the custom requirements.
- Assist in developing and improving tools, practices, and processes
- Maintain processes within Jira, Confluence, and GitHub instances.
- Share responsibility of maintaining Google Workspace for the organization.
- Share responsibility of maintaining and configuring Apple devices using Jamf.
- Check and resolve any security-related items as they arrive.
- Assist with Service desk support, assisting team members with any issues in office and remotely
- Assist Software Engineers with maintaining CI components for NodeJS/react, and Java using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define specifications and requirements for all internal and external development.
- Perform code reviews to ensure high quality and consistent coding practices.
- Be part of the on-call team rotation to help resolve issues with customer-facing and support applications.
- Other complex projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR 4+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree.
- 2 years of overall experience working with IT infrastructure and/or development teams to build enterprise-scale application integration solutions.
- Fundamental experience with Bash,
- Basic understanding of network stack and network security.
- Basic experience with Git and version control, including cloning repositories, committing changes, and working with branches in a team environment.
- Fundamental knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes.
- Occasional overnight travel (up to 10%) as needed.
- Able to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short notice.
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC), including writing and applying configurations.
- Understanding of business functions, operations, and strategic objectives, with an interest in how technology supports business goals.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), including deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized applications, configuring networking, and working with scaling and automation features.
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and its services.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as PCI, NIST, CCPA, and GDPR, with experience maintaining compliance status.
