Role:

The Project Manager will report to the Program Manager while working under the Project Pre-Planning Team Lead. This team is responsible for planning large-scale IT operational fleet projects (shipboard) from inception through handoff to the Deployment Team for execution. The Project Manager will coordinate cross-team efforts, manage business and IT expectations, define and manage project scope, validate budgets and procurement, and oversee design conversations and approvals. This role requires strong communication skills, including formal presentations to senior management, and the ability to drive project schedules, align project goals with IT strategies, and manage vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee large-scale IT operational fleet projects from initiation to deployment handoff.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives align with IT strategic goals.
  • Manage scope definition, documentation, budget validation, and procurement processes.
  • Facilitate design discussions and obtain necessary approvals from stakeholders.
  • Develop and drive project schedules while managing vendor relationships and deliverables.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and updates to senior management through formal presentations.
  • Ensure alignment of project goals with enterprise technology and operational processes.
  • Support Dry Docks on a fill-in basis for modernization projects, as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Strong understanding of project methodology in a waterfall environment.
  • Experience managing large, complex projects in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including business presentations and issue resolution.
  • Experience in procurement and logistics, with the ability to navigate complexities.
  • Ability to travel (10-20%).
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to drive IT culture and team collaboration.

Preferred Experience:

  • PMP certification (preferred but not required).
  • Familiarity with MS Project or similar project management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and issue resolution skills.
  • Understanding of enterprise technologies and their applications.
  • HR skills, including team building, coaching, and performance management.
