Job Title: Systems Administrator (Windows Server & AIX/Linux)
Type: Contract (1+ year)
Location: Miami, FL
Onsite Requirement: 100% Onsite
 

Position Overview:

The Windows Systems Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server and AIX/Linux systems. This role is critical for ensuring optimal system performance, security, and disaster recovery plans while automating tasks for efficient infrastructure operations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

•          Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server operating systems.

•          Monitor and maintain system performance, ensuring optimal operation.

•          Plan and execute regular system updates, patches, and security fixes.

•          Design, document, and update administrative procedures, including backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.

•          Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell scripts or other automation tools.

•          Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing timely resolutions.

•          Maintain and update documentation and runbooks for system configurations and standard procedures.

•          Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future needs and ensure scalability.

•          Provide support and consultation during system migrations, upgrades, and other IT projects.

•          Perform regular audits of systems to ensure adherence to compliance requirements.

•          Monitor system logs for unusual activity and potential security breaches.

•          Collaborate with network and database administrators to ensure overall infrastructure health.

•          Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff.

•          Assist in disaster recovery planning and perform regular failover testing and drills.

Technical Skills Required:

•          Windows Server Administration (Installation, configuration, maintenance of Windows OS)

•          PowerShell or Python Scripting (Automation tasks)

•          Technical Support (Updates, patches, security fixes)

•          AIX/Linux System Administration (Nice to have)

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
