Job Title: Jr. Product Owner
Job Type: 6-Month Contract (Extension is Likely)
Job Location: 100% Remote (North America)
Job Overview:
?We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Product Owner to join our IT team. The successful candidate will support global systems including SAP S/4, SAP SAM app, SAP MOC, AVEVA PI Historian, Wonderware, and SEEQ. This role will work with the Global Product Owner over maintenance and historian technologies to define product vision and road maps, build and refine the product backlogs, lead the scrum teams, ensure quality work is delivered, and communicate with users and stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meet with stakeholders to intake requests, then translate those requests to a refined product backlog.
- Support Scrum team through discovery, development, user acceptance testing, and launch of enhancements and projects.
- Understand, create, and implement test plans, automation, and validation procedures based on stated product features and acceptance criteria.
- Analyze test findings as needed to determine whether they constitute a defect against existing requirements or a request for enhancement.
- Develop and send global communications describing changes from a user’s perspective.
- Assist in preparation of product roadmaps.
- Partner with internal IT teams to ensure they are included in design, implementation, launch, and recognition of work performed.
- Clearly communicate status of requests and work in progress to stakeholders.
- Be comfortable with tactfully and respectfully saying “no” or “not at this time”.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related area required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area preferred.
- For those candidates without a bachelor’s degree, 10+ years of relevant experience is required.
- Certifications from either Scrum Alliance (CSPO/A-CSPO) or Scaled Agile (Certified SAFe Product Owner/Manager) preferred.
- Experience filling the role of Product Owner in either Scrum or Scaled Agile Framework methodologies or direct business experience in the area of focus.
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles and process.
- Strong requirements elicitation, gathering, and documentation skills, at business, functional, and technical levels.
- Ability to manage customer requirements and scope discussions; as well as ability to facilitate large groups.
- Direct hands-on experience with grooming backlogs and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements.
- Successful track record of delivering projects within deadlines and budgets.
- Experience leading large business or IT programs involving multiple teams preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation communication skills.
- Highly organized.
- Ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding with the technical and the business teams.
- Ability to effectively work and create effective partnerships with employees at all levels within the organization.
- Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide oversight across multiple initiatives or projects.
- Ability to coordinate/manage offshore teams.
- Multilingual English and Portuguese a significant asset.
- Basic understanding of enterprise-level technology, connectivity, and operations.
- Ability to take ownership of a problem and drive it to resolution.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Experience with office management software like MS Office (MS Excel, MS Teams, Copilot, and MS Outlook, in particular).
- Experience with Jira and Jira Align preferred.
