Infrastructure IT Lead Business Analyst
Location: Houston, TX (4 days onsite per week)
Type: Contract 6-12+ months
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Business Analyst to lead data integrations for an operational and financial forecasting system within the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with data platforms, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, focusing on data platforms and integrations.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas operations.
- Proficiency in SQL/SSIS and/or AWS Redshift/Glue, as well as Power BI/Tableau for data analysis and visualization.
- Experience in data modeling, building STTM’s, and working with Cloud Data Platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
- Experience analyzing APIs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools.
Responsibilities:
- Lead data integrations to support operational and financial forecasting tools.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure accurate implementation of data pipelines.
- Create and execute requirement gathering plans, prioritizing and revising as needed to meet project demands.
- Lead requirements gathering meetings, analyze unknown datasets, and work with stakeholders to understand expected data needs.
- Manage projects within quality, time, and resource constraints, setting clear expectations for the project team.
- Identify and proactively address data risks, developing action plans to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
- Form strong relationships by leading, coaching, and motivating team members, and identifying and resolving blockers or conflicts.
- Continuously seek answers and solutions, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness in problem-solving.
