Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Business Analyst plan, design, and gather requirements in support of prioritized projects. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The analyst meets with key business stakeholders, end users, and other IT team members to design and plan the business and technical requirements for a specific project. Specifically, the analyst will be focusing on the modernization of a program with one of their wholesale retailers. These efforts include refactoring order processing, retiring legacy IT systems that currently run the program, implementing improvements for the sales team, and working with various stakeholders (IT and other business units) to accomplish the work. The analyst is the key contributor to documentation of the requirements in tickets in preparation for development, representing both business and technical artifacts as part of the document. The analyst will also be responsible for coordinating the development with developers, the QA efforts, deployment planning, and validating production changes. As part of the original design, the analyst will also ensure that error handling, alerting and monitoring, and other non-functional requirements are designed and executed effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business and system requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve systems issues related to business processes or data.
• Gather and evaluate data and make determinations of key problem areas, confirm new solutions fixed prior issues with data, and keep historical record of reasons for changes with data sets
• Lead design sessions in diagramming and prototyping new system processes for the purpose of training, project documentation, creating artifacts that are used by developers to design technical requirements.
• Assist in reviewing and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
• Responsible for ensuring the requirements meet the scope of the project and are representative of both technology and business requirements.
• Assist in planning and executing the User Acceptance Testing and end user training of requirements for a project.
• Assist in the validation of a deployed projects to ensure functionality is operating as the requirements needed.
• Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in systems used by the assigned business unit.
• Create system design proposals.
• Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers.
• Assist in designing and executing monitoring and alert methods to track key data points and alert key stakeholders
• Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
• Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.

Required Experience & Skills:

• College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems and 5+ years related work experience.
• Proven experience in overseeing the requirements gathering, business process design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
• Working understanding of Order to Cash processes through an ERP system
• Proven experience in the querying ERP data for us in analysis of business data, including an understanding of ERP data architecture.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
