Location: Remote (10% Travel)
Type: Contract-to-Hire (6-Month Contract)

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and strategic leader to serve as Manager of Radiology & Cardiology Imaging Systems. This role will oversee a team responsible for imaging informatics systems, including PACS and cardiovascular imaging platforms, in a complex health system environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical experience within IT, strong team leadership, and a proven ability to partner across clinical and enterprise teams to deliver reliable, high-performing imaging technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Within the enterprise IT department, lead and manage a team of PACS administrators and imaging analysts supporting diagnostic imaging systems.
  • Oversee team performance, workload prioritization, cross-functional collaboration, and skill development.
  • Provide operational oversight of PACS infrastructure and cardiovascular imaging tools, including Sectra PACS.
  • Translate clinical feedback from radiology and cardiology into technical direction and strategic initiatives.
  • Support and improve integrations between imaging systems and enterprise EHRs (Epic preferred) and third-party tools (e.g., Aidoc, Visage 7, Dicom Systems).
  • Collaborate closely with enterprise IT, including infrastructure, network, and security teams, to maintain uptime, performance, and compliance.
  • Lead system upgrades, workflow optimization efforts, and incident resolution.
  • Manage on-premise PACS storage, including backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of architecture, workflows, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare imaging standards, retention policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Stay informed on emerging imaging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance clinical outcomes and system performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing PACS and cardiovascular imaging systems within an IT department or technically integrated healthcare environment.
  • 3+ years of direct team leadership, with a track record of guiding technical staff in high-volume clinical settings.
  • Hands-on experience with Sectra PACS (strongly preferred) and cardiovascular imaging platforms.
  • Proven success integrating third-party tools into PACS ecosystems (e.g., Aidoc, Visage 7, InteleViewer, or Dicom Systems).
  • Experience supporting on-prem infrastructure and imaging system integrations with EHR platforms (Epic highly preferred).
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to engage both clinical stakeholders and enterprise IT leadership.
  • Preferred: background in a clinical imaging role (e.g., radiologic or cardiovascular technologist).
