Job Title: Release Management Lead Engineer / DevSecOps

Location: Deerfield Beach, FL / Hybrid

Type: Contract 9+ months

 

Role Overview:

This resource will coordinate and manage software releases across various environments, ensure the integrity and stability of the non-production and Prod environments during releases. This resource will have to cover hours between 1pm – 10pm EST weekdays and rotation for Production deployments on Saturday evenings which can start as early as 7pm and as late as 10pm. These change windows are typically 4 hours in duration.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily deployment review meetings.
  • Coordinate with different platform and QA teams during release windows.
  • Monitor and improve the efficiency of release management processes.
  • Maintain documentation for release notes and Service Now Change Requests.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with JM change management standards.
  • Represent changes to the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
  • Plan, configure, and maintain test environments to ensure they meet the requirements of development and testing teams.
  • Collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to identify environment requirements for each stage of the software development lifecycle.
  • Monitor the health and performance of test environments, taking corrective actions when needed to ensure stability and reliability.
  • Manage environment bookings and allocations to avoid conflicts and ensure teams can access the appropriate environments when needed.
  • Implement changes and improvements to streamline the management of test environments, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

 

Tools and Technologies:

  • ServiceNow: Create Change Requests for all Production deployments and represent changes to the CAB.
  • Azure: Manage work items and tickets, create queries and dashboards to track release metrics.
  • SharePoint: Maintain a Release Management site with all relevant environment and release documentation.
  • Microsoft Dynamics F&O: Create builds and releases.
  • Azure DevOps: Experience with release pipelines for custom Azure applications.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous release management lead experience highly preferred
  • Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools, preferably ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Microsoft Dynamics F&O.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of change and release management principles.
  • Ability to create queries and dashboards to track release metrics.
  • Engineering or senior developer background with hands-on release management.
  • Familiarity with tools like ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, and GitHub

 

Additional Duties:

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams for testing and validation.
  • Provide governance oversight to ensure adherence to processes.
  • Manage risk associated with deploying changes to production environments.
