Job Title: Advanced Quality Engineering Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train, develop, coach, and evaluate employees
  • Lead AQE group to achieve product line and functional goals
  • Lead AQE group activities to execute & monitor SDMP advanced quality planning with new product suppliers, ensuring that program objectives are met
  • Improve quality performance of suppliers by driving rigorous execution of SDMP, as well as providing technical support as required
  • Coordinate & facilitate the execution of duties with business lines, product teams and global colleagues
  • Develop and drive work systems, tools, and environment to enable group success (as measured by business goals and excellence to the customer), support best/standard AQE work practices and initiatives
  • Work with Global AQE Leadership Team to define, implement and execute process and procedures
  • Support IATF16949:2016 Internal and External Surveillance audits
  • Provide hands-on support when necessary
  • Manage audit of AQE activities
  • Foster excellence in the work environment
  • Assure compliance of policies and procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or similar field)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Advanced Quality Engineer
  • Experience in the automotive industry
  • Ability to lead and develop a global team of Advanced Quality Engineers (U.S. & Mexico)
  • Demonstrated, high level of interpersonal and team skills to effectively lead, motivate, and facilitate others to accomplish group activities
  • Highly proficient communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with international teams
  • Demonstrated very high level of analytical ability to assess & resolve complex, technical problems
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of statistical process control and statistical engineering tools
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of manufacturing, lean, and quality systems, processes, and practices
  • Working knowledge of Supplier Quality processes.
  • Working knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes 
  • High level of computer skill, e.g., Excel, Access, and Word
  • Self-starter – must be capable of working with minimum direction or supervision
  • Familiarity with PPAP (Purchase Part Approval Process)

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supervising technical salaried employees
  • Experience working with suppliers and working knowledge of SDMP

Required Travel: 20% travel, mostly domestic
