JOB OVERVIEW

The Platform Architect is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of IT architecture models and their lower level components. They are also required to interpret, use and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT support systems. Provide an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts.

 

Understand user and process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables. Work closely with engineers and developers to develop road maps for systems, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure. Design public and private cloud systems. Design work includes placement and specification of servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, network management systems and VoIP infrastructure. Responsible to build and align a User Experience Roadmap for IT leadership to adopt and support.  Active Member of the Architecture Review Board (ARB).

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to diagram and outline integrations, data flows, system connections in multiple view.
  • Ability to facilitate in group sessions, working to review and document current and future state architecture.
  • Serve as key resource and liaison to more strongly integrate public and private cloud service into more of an integrated hybrid model.
  • Alignment of IT strategy and planning with company's business goals.
  • Promotion of shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flow.
  • Direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that involve the selection, development, implementation and use of IT within the enterprise.
  • Minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgement. Uses judgement appropriately to escalate with Enterprise Architect to solution on issues.
  • Providing guidance and oversight to deliver encryption at rest across the enterprise.
  • Assist in the technology design on key solution engineering capabilities to drive further automation and standardization.
  • Deliver designs to provide improvements in data retention and document destruction practices.
  • Work with our digital infrastructure teams on driving continued improvements in network segmentation and connectivity.
  • Deliver designs to provide active and cold storage options that support litigation hold and document retrieval.
  • Partner with key teams to deliver application and workflow improvements on call contact center technologies.
