Job Title: Buyer
Job Type: Direct Hire
Location: Remote, Training in MI or OH
Work Authorization: US Citizen or Green Card Holder

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Requests for Quotes
  • Analyze supplier quote information, and recommend suppliers in accordance with defined procedures
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers
  • Develop and execute buyer business plans, sourcing strategies and material cost reduction initiatives to achieve business unit goals
  • Utilize global sourcing and benchmarking to achieve best cost for purchased parts
  • Manage/develop supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance with regard to cost, quality, technology, and service
  • Lead activities within functional areas to develop and implement strategies

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5 years Purchasing/Supply Management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree. Engineering or Business preferred
  • High level of proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to lead and work in a team
  • High level of analytical ability and strategic thinking
  • High level of problem solving skills
  • Computer proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to learn and use ERP and other software systems (i.e. SAP)
