Position Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled Data Warehouse Analyst to work within the Business Intelligence Systems Management group. The Data Analyst performs queries, analyses, and evaluation of data in a data warehouse environment. This analyst also uses data mining and data analysis tools to isolate and extract data based on specific parameters and monitors toll transaction data flow to identify any inconsistencies. The Data Analyst performs regular monitoring and trend analysis of system performance and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This team member recommends changes to systems or operations where needed. Reviews and validates data in the data warehouse for accuracy. The Data Analyst also maintains knowledge of software tools, languages, scripts, and shells that effectively support the data warehouse environment in different operating system environments
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs queries, analyses, and evaluation of data in a data warehouse environment
  • Uses data mining and data analysis tools to isolate and extract data based on specific parameters and monitors toll transaction data flow to identify any inconsistencies
  • Performs regular monitoring and trend analysis of system performance and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Recommends changes to systems or operations where needed. Reviews and validates data in the data warehouse for accuracy
  • Maintains knowledge of software tools, languages, scripts, and shells that effectively support the data warehouse environment in different operating system environments
  • Provides data extraction, analysis, development, and support in multiplatform environments
  • Works on multiple projects as a team member and may lead projects of moderate complexity

Required Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as Data Analyst.
  • 3+ years SQL experience.
  • 3+ years Excel experience including functions and formulas.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skill.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and skills and cross train.
  • Strong technical writing (reports and SOPs) experience, for all levels of the organization utilizing MSOffice, Visio, Share Point or similar applications.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects across the organization collaboratively and proactively.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, Linux Unix background and PowerShell scripting.  
  • Experience Windows server 2008 and above.
  • Experience of software and hardware testing.
  • Tolling experience
  • B.S. degree in Business, Information Technology, or another subject such as Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics or Engineering.
  • Relevant work experience related to information and communication technologies, toll operations, and/or intelligent transportation systems (ITS), including toll collection systems, toll infrastructure, electronic payment, call centers, or traffic management.
  • Knowledge of supporting and maintaining production systems.
