Job Title: Payroll Analyst 

Location: Hybrid in Cranberry Township, PA (Pittsburgh area)

Job-Type: Contract (6+ months)

Employment Eligibility: Gravity cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. 


The primary work activity of this position is to perform tasks associated with Payroll taxes


  • Ensure proper tax agency setups and administration.
  • Ability to research and comprehend payroll tax regulations across states.
  • Multi-Jurisdiction taxation with remote workforce.
  • Tax notices: Log and resolve agency notices with third party.
  • Timely file various state Workers Compensation true ups.   
  • Support timely and accurate W2 processing.
  • Understand the recording and taxation of stock income.
  • Develop and respond in a timely manner to payroll related data requests with accurate information
  • Run reports for various internal and external users.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • Knowledge of US payroll tax regulations
  • Have broad knowledge in accounting, payroll, labor laws and tax
  • Experienced user of payroll and timesheet software, ADP WorkForce Now a plus
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team environment with changing roles, responsibilities, and priorities
  • Detail oriented with good organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills preferred.
  • Candidate must be self-reliant and have the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Payroll

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations
  • Payroll Certification

Work Conditions:

  • Regular office work
  • May need extended hours for quarter-end close.
