Job Title:  Software Engineering Manager
Location: Salt Lake City
Job-Type:  Permanent
Salary Range:  140K – 160K
Referral Fee: $3,000

Position Overview:
In this role you will lead, mentor, and coach engineers to be active and accountable for the delivery of their Scrum Team.  You will contribute to developing and implementing standards and practices for the development organization that leads to modern and adaptable software.  You will utilize pair programming and code reviews to develop and mentor and will inspire a positive culture. 
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor software engineers in an agile environment
  • Develop and implement coding/engineering standards
  • Utilize pair programming and code reviews as tools to develop and mentor
  • Coach teams in story mapping
  • Work to remove practices that are inefficient, redundant, non-productive
  • Promote test automation practices – teach engineers to automate tests and ensure quality code
  • Help identify technical debt and make team aware of its consequences

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Experience in leadership of a software engineer team
  • 8+ years’ experience as a software developer and/or architect
  • Demonstrated skill across a broad range of modern development languages, frameworks, coding patterns and practices that include
    • API design and interaction, REST & SOAP 
    • Object-oriented programming  
    • MVC frameworks 
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills  
  • Proficiency in the SQL query language, data access methodology, modern database technology and design concepts 
  • Experience with GIT and software version and change control methods 
  • Experience with Agile development techniques  
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience

Nice to Have Experience:

  • Experience with Python, Django, C#, .NET Core, SQL Server, React and Angular 
  • Experience with Docker containers
  • Experience in microservices and service-oriented architecture
