Location: Richardson, TX (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel Requirements: ~15% (Local and National)
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a sharp, highly capable Senior Systems Administrator to join our lean but impactful Infrastructure and Information Security team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, and who brings deep technical expertise in Microsoft technologies, particularly within Azure, Intune, Entra ID, and PowerShell scripting. This is a key position within their Systems team, providing nationwide support across all time zones for a workforce of 3,000+ users.
What You’ll Do:
In this multifaceted role, you’ll be the go-to technical expert for all things related to cloud infrastructure, systems administration, and advanced troubleshooting. You’ll collaborate closely with DevOps, Networking, and Security teams, while also supporting end users and mentoring junior staff. Daily tasks could include scripting automation in PowerShell, managing device policies in Intune, configuring Azure services, and rolling up your sleeves for hardware installs or software troubleshooting. The environment is dynamic, and you’ll be expected to take ownership of your work and drive initiatives forward with minimal oversight.
What You Bring:
-
5+ years of experience in systems administration, ideally in a senior or team lead capacity.
-
Proven hands-on PowerShell scripting experience—building scripts from scratch to automate and manage infrastructure tasks.
-
Deep knowledge of Azure, including implementation, integration, and optimization across various services such as Azure Storage, Azure Networking (VNETs, Virtual WAN), Azure VMs, Azure Functions, and Container Registries.
-
Hands-on experience with Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) and Microsoft Intune for identity and device management.
-
Strong background in supporting Microsoft 365 applications and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
-
Ability to provide infrastructure-level support for both hardware and software, as well as a working understanding of networking and security basics.
-
Experience working alongside or supporting DevOps teams is a major plus.
Who You Are:
You’re a proactive problem-solver who is present, communicative, and dependable. You’re excited to contribute to a collaborative team, and you take pride in sharing your knowledge and elevating those around you. You don’t need micromanagement—you thrive when trusted to manage your time, own your responsibilities, and mentor others. You’re also adaptable, ready to roll with shifting priorities and no two days being the same.
