Software Engineer II (Top Secret Clearance Required)
Location: Aberdeen, MD (need to be commutable with a days notice but mostly remote)
Clearance Level: Active Top Secret (TS)
?? About the Role:
We’re seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our mission-driven team. In this role, you’ll architect, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade software solutions leveraging Java, Spring Framework, and SQL databases. Your work will directly contribute to national security and defense systems.
? Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement software applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Optimize and maintain complex SQL databases for performance and scalability
- Collaborate across teams to integrate secure APIs and cloud-native services
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive software excellence
- Translate business and security requirements into robust software solutions
- Ensure software complies with security protocols aligned with Top Secret clearance guidelines
? Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen with active Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
- Deep expertise in Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security, etc.)
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database design (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle)
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and system architecture
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Prior work in federal or defense sectors
