Job Title: IT Procurement Manager
Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid Tuesday – Thursday in Oakland office)
Job Type: Direct Hire
Our client is seeking an IT Procurement Manager with deep experience in enterprise software suppliers/vendors and strategic sourcing. This leader will oversee multiple spend categories, develop sourcing strategies, and manage high-value contracts (ranging from $500K–$10M). They will be responsible for category management, supplier relationship management, contract governance, cost savings, and performance improvement across IT procurement. The role requires someone who can partner with stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and act as a trusted advisor to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic portfolio/category plans for IT spend, driving savings, service excellence, and supplier performance.
- Oversee contract governance from creation through award.
- Manage large, complex contracts and vendor relationships (enterprise software, IT services, SaaS, cloud, hardware, etc.).
- Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives, including needs assessment, spend analysis, benchmarking, and business case development.
- Drive supplier diversity, green supply chain, and standardization opportunities.
- Develop and execute negotiation strategies with major IT vendors (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, ServiceNow, Salesforce).
- Establish and manage supplier SLAs to ensure accountability.
- Supervise a team of Sourcing Supervisors, Category Leaders, and Specialists.
- Approve purchase orders and contracts from $500K to $10M.
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of sourcing/procurement experience with a focus on IT categories.
- Enterprise software procurement/vendor management experience (end-to-end sourcing, contract negotiation, renewals, governance).
- Proven success leading cross-functional teams on strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and contract negotiation expertise.
Desired Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree.
- 2–3 years of direct supervisory experience.
- Project management experience.
- Category management and procurement transformation experience.
- SAP/SRM proficiency.
