Job Title: Junior Accounting Manager
Type: Direct Hire
Location: Onsite / Hybrid (as applicable)
Role Overview
The Junior Accounting Manager will support day to day accounting operations across a family owned construction business and a growing e commerce operation. This role partners closely with ownership, senior leadership, and external accounting firms, offering broad exposure to multiple business models. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, dependable, and motivated to grow into a long term financial leadership role within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.

Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

Maintain accurate general ledger records for both entities.

Assist with financial statements and internal management reporting.

Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors.
Construction Accounting
-
Track job costs, budgets, and cost to complete estimates.

Reconcile job cost reports to the general ledger.

Support contract billing, retainage, and change order accounting.

Assist with WIP schedules and percentage of completion or completed contract accounting.
E Commerce Accounting
-
Reconcile daily sales, refunds, platform fees, and payment processor payouts.

Assist with inventory accounting, COGS, and gross margin analysis.

Track sales tax collection and support compliance and filings.

Monitor advertising spend and cash flow tied to online sales.
AP, AR, and Cash Management
-
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
-
Ensure timely vendor payments and customer collections.

Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
-
Assist with cash flow tracking and forecasting.
Process Improvement
-
Help document accounting procedures and internal controls.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Support accounting system maintenance and enhancements.
Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.

Working knowledge of GAAP fundamentals.

Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar.

Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas.

High attention to detail, integrity, and discretion.

Comfortable working in a family owned, relationship driven environment.
Preferred Skills

Construction or e commerce accounting experience.

Experience with job cost accounting and WIP schedules.
-
Exposure to inventory accounting and sales tax compliance.
-
CPA candidate or interest in long term professional development.
