Job Title: Junior Data Engineer
Type: Contract, Contract-to-Hire, or Direct Hire (flexible based on candidate quality)
Location: Remote (must reside in approved U.S. states)
Role Overview
The Junior Data Integration Engineer will support system and data integrations across multiple healthcare platforms and third-party vendors. This role sits within the Data Engineering and Systems Integration team and works closely with a Senior Integration Lead to automate data feeds, maintain pipelines, and support ongoing integration initiatives. The position is hands-on and execution-focused, with most work centered on Python-based automation and SQL-driven data movement.
This role is ideal for a professional with early-career experience who understands both the technical and healthcare domain aspects of data integration.
Key Responsibilities

Support systems integration efforts between internal platforms and third-party vendors.

Develop and maintain data integrations using Python for automation and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and loading.

Assist with integrations across core healthcare systems, including EHR, care management, and pharmacy platforms.

Work with APIs to move data between systems and external vendors (eligibility checks, address verification, supplemental services).

Maintain and monitor existing data pipelines and underlying data models.

Troubleshoot integration issues and support data quality and reliability.

Collaborate closely with the Systems Integration Lead on design, implementation, and optimization of integrations.

Contribute to other data engineering or integration initiatives as needed based on team priorities.
Required Skills and Experience

1–3 years of professional experience in a data engineering, integration, or related technical role.

Strong working knowledge of SQL for querying, data manipulation, and pipeline support.

Hands-on experience with Python for automation and integration work.

Exposure to API-based integrations between systems.

Healthcare domain experience required (provider, payer, health plan, or healthcare technology vendor).

Ability to work independently while taking technical direction from senior team members.
Preferred Skills

Experience supporting healthcare systems such as EHR, care management, or pharmacy platforms.

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

Experience maintaining data pipelines and data models.

Exposure to cloud environments (Azure is a plus, not required).

Experience working with third-party healthcare data vendors.
