Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a temporary Onboarding & Training Consultant to design and implement role-specific onboarding and training framework for Client Managers, Patient Care Advocates, and Client Implementation Managers. As the organization scales, these roles will ensure onboarding is structured, consistent, and aligned to the responsibilities and workflows of these roles within a PBM environment. The consultant will assess current practices, identify gaps, and develop a scalable, manager-led enablement model that accelerates ramp time and improves early performance. This role will define learning objectives and build e-learning and facilitator-ready materials that leaders can consistently deliver. This is a temporary, project-based role with a defined scope and deliverables. The consultant will prioritize by role, starting with the Client Manager, followed by the Patient Care Advocate, then conclude with the Client Implementation Manager.
What you will do:
Tailored Onboarding & Training Design:
- Assess the current Client Manager, Patient Care Advocate, and Client Implementation onboarding experiences, training materials, and early performance requirements for the positions
- Identify gaps between existing training and the actual responsibilities, workflows, and expectations of the roles and responsibilities
- Design a structured, role-specific onboarding framework aligned to a PBM and Our client context
- Define clear learning objectives, milestones, and success indicators for the first 30, 60, and 90 days
Curriculum and Content Development:
- Create an onboarding and enablement outline that managers track and facilitate
- Develop scalable training content, with an emphasis on asynchronous e-learning for a fully remote workforce
- Partner with internal subject matter experts to capture workflows, best practices, and real-world scenarios
- Translate complex processes into clear, practical training materials
Manager Enablement:
- Design the onboarding and training model so that Client Manager, Patient Care Advocate, and Client Implementation leaders own and facilitate training
- Provide facilitator guides, checkpoints, and coaching prompts to support consistent manager-led execution
- Ensure clarity around manager responsibilities versus learner responsibilities within the onboarding and training process
Measurement and Continuous Improvement:
- Recommend metrics to evaluate onboarding effectiveness (e.g., ramp time, early performance indicators, manager feedback)
- Document opportunities for iteration and long-term sustainability beyond the contract period
- Deliver a final handoff package that is sustainable and enables internal teams to maintain and evolve the program
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of experience in learning and development, onboarding design, enablement, or training program development
- Demonstrated experience designing role-specific onboarding or enablement programs
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and remote learning best practices
- Proven ability to translate real-world job expectations into structured training content
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and deliver against defined milestones
- Experience in healthcare, PBM, managed care, or a similarly complex regulated environment
- Experience building e-learning or blended learning programs
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and digital learning tools
- Background working with client-facing, account management, or customer success roles preferred
- Experience partnering with leaders to drive adoption of training programs
- Strong documentation, synthesis, and communication skills
