Platform Engineer (Nearshore)
Role Overview
The Platform Engineer will support the administration and reliability of core enterprise data and application platforms. This role will focus on infrastructure operations, middleware support, and system administration across both Linux and Windows environments.
This position supports a growing enterprise data platform ecosystem that continue to support critical business processes.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration
- Administer and maintain Linux and Windows server environments supporting enterprise applications.
- Monitor platform performance, stability, and system health.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution across infrastructure and application teams.
Middleware Support
- Administer and support Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Orable Business Intelligence (OBIEE)
- Assist with platform configuration, patching, and environment management.
- Support integration points between legacy systems and modern data platforms.
Operational Support
- Participate in run-the-business platform support activities.
- Assist with production support, incident response, and system maintenance.
- Contribute to platform stability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Partner with platform engineering, infrastructure, and data platform teams.
- Work closely with the onshore platform engineer responsible for overall platform ownership.
- Support platform administration for evolving data platforms including Databricks and Snowflake (both preferred previous experience) environments
Required Qualifications
- Strong Linux administration experience
- Bash scripting
- Automation
- Git experience
- CI/CD pipelines and tooling
- Windows Server administration
- Experience supporting enterprise middleware platforms
- Experience with system monitoring and operational support
- Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and platform related issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle middleware administration
- Informatica PowerCenter exposure
- Experience supporting cloud environments (Azure preferred)
- Experience working with data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
- Networking experience
- Azure certification
