Sr. End User Engineer (AVD / Nerdio / Horizon)
Location: Remote (U.S. – must align to Central Time hours)
Overview
We are seeking a Senior End User Engineer to support a high-impact initiative focused on migrating applications from on-premise data centers to cloud-based virtual desktop environments.
This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong experience in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Nerdio, and VMware Horizon/Omnissa, who can help build, implement, and scale a growing virtual desktop environment.
This is not a maintenance role — this is an opportunity to help stand up and shape an evolving AVD environment while partnering closely with internal teams to establish best practices and accelerate adoption.
Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments

Configure and manage Nerdio for AVD optimization and automation

Support VMware Horizon / Omnissa environments and published applications

Migrate applications from on-premise to cloud-based virtual platforms

Deliver scalable virtual desktop and application delivery solutions

Partner with internal engineering teams to establish best practices and standards

Provide hands-on support across both engineering and operational activities

Help drive adoption and maturity of virtual desktop capabilities
Required Qualifications
-
7+ years of experience in end-user computing / desktop engineering

Strong hands-on experience with:
-
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
-
Nerdio
-
VMware Horizon / Omnissa (EUC side)
-
-
Experience with published applications / virtual app delivery
-
Strong background in Windows OS and end-user environments
-
Experience supporting or implementing cloud migration initiatives

Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in healthcare, financial services, or other regulated environments
-
Exposure to Epic or similar enterprise platforms
-
Familiarity with environments involving PII / HIPAA-style controls
-
Experience with Citrix (as a complementary skillset)
