Job Title: HPE NonStop Engineer
Location: Remote
Job-Type: 2+ yr Contract- Will also consider FTE
Compensation: 80-100/hr
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HPE NonStop Engineer to support a stable, business-critical enterprise environment. This role is focused on ensuring continuity of support, minimizing operational risk, and providing hands-on engineering expertise during a key team transition. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with HPE NonStop systems and be able to quickly step into an established environment to provide administration, engineering, scripting, and hardware support.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support for a production HPE NonStop environment
- Maintain stability, availability, and operational readiness across production, disaster recovery, and test systems
- Troubleshoot issues and respond to infrastructure events as needed
- Perform system administration, engineering, scripting, and hardware-level support
- Install and configure HPE NonStop environments from the ground up
- Support active/passive infrastructure and disaster recovery readiness
- Assist with standing up a new test environment
- Support implementation of new virtual tape libraries and replacement of end-of-life components
- Document processes and support knowledge transfer where needed
- Partner with internal infrastructure and application teams to ensure ongoing platform support
Required Experience & Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience supporting HPE NonStop systems
- Ability to administer, engineer, and troubleshoot the platform end to end
- Experience with system installation and configuration from the ground up
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments
- Experience with scripting and hardware/platform support
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to ramp up quickly in a niche environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Nice to Have Experience:
Experience supporting active/passive enterprise environments
Experience with disaster recovery configurations
Experience supporting multi-site environments
Experience building or expanding test environments
Experience with virtual tape libraries or infrastructure refresh projects
Background in financial services or other regulated enterprise environments
