Workday HCM Engineer (Techno-Functional Lead)
Duration: 3–4-month Contract
Location: Remote / Hybrid (Global Locations)
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Workday HCM Engineer to drive the evolution of our HR technology ecosystem. This role will focus on designing, optimizing, and scaling Workday HCM and related HR platforms to support a rapidly growing, global organization.
This is a hands-on, senior-level position requiring deep expertise in Workday configuration, HR systems architecture, and cross-functional process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Workday subject matter expert, overseeing configuration, enhancements, integrations, and reporting across the HCM suite
- Lead the design, testing, and deployment of Workday updates, new modules, and system improvements
- Partner with HR, Finance, Payroll, IT, and Compliance teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable, high-impact HR technology solutions
- Develop and maintain documentation, process maps, dashboards, and system governance standards
- Manage Workday release cycles, including feature evaluation, testing, and rollout planning
- Perform data loads, mass updates, and audits to ensure accuracy, security, and data integrity
- Identify system gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation; propose and implement best?practice solutions
- Support downstream integrations and troubleshoot issues across connected systems
- Provide hands-on support to People Operations teams and act as a trusted advisor on HR technology strategy
Required Technical Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience across modules such as:
- Core HCM
- Advanced Compensation
- Talent & Performance
- Reporting & Dashboards
- Time Tracking or Learning (preferred)
- Strong understanding of HR processes including onboarding, contract management, and offboarding
- Strong experience working with Workday Integrations: Workday Studio & EIB’s
- Experience supporting Workday integrations; familiarity with Workday Studio is a plus
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data accuracy, system integrity, and operational excellence
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
