AI Solutions Engineer | Charlotte, NC |
We’re looking for a hands-on, senior-level AI Solutions Engineer to sit at the center of our applied AI development efforts. This is an 80% AI development role — you’ll be the person who takes AI from concept to production, building the instruction sets, coding standards, and integration patterns that allow our development teams to use AI safely, effectively, and at scale. If you spend your weekends experimenting with AI tools and love being at the cutting edge, this role was written for you.
What You’ll Do
- Build AI instruction sets, coding standards, templates, and test-case generation guidance so AI outputs meet engineering expectations
- Pilot in-house AI experiments and help determine whether to build/customize LLMs or integrate third-party solutions
- Implement safe, sandboxed environments for AI experimentation
- Work directly alongside development teams to operationalize AI in their day-to-day workflows
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect and solutions architects to scale AI adoption across the organization
- Optimize prompts and workflows to manage token spend and cost efficiency
What You Bring
- Strong hands-on development background — full-stack versatility is important
- Proficiency in C# and/or Python; JavaScript and front-end framework experience welcomed
- Demonstrated experience with agentic IDE workflows — VS Code + GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar
- Ability to design solutions at the solutions-architecture level, not just write code
- Genuine curiosity about AI — you experiment on your own, you stay current, and you can talk about it with both engineers and business stakeholders
- Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI tooling integration in real development environments
