AI Software Engineer (LLMs / Full Stack)
Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) | Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire
This isn’t an “AI curiosity” role—this is an AI-first engineering position.
Our client is building a Rapid Innovation team where every product includes an AI component. They’re looking for someone who can actually build with AI—not just talk about it.
If you’ve shipped real AI-powered features using LLMs or modern AI APIs, this is a chance to take ownership of how AI gets applied across an entire portfolio of applications.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and build AI-powered features using LLMs and modern AI APIs
- Integrate AI into full stack applications (Angular, Node.js, SQL)
- Implement patterns like RAG, prompt engineering, and AI orchestration
- Lead AI architecture decisions for new and existing applications
- Identify opportunities where AI can improve workflows and automate processes
- Stay current on AI tools and bring new ideas to the team
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Hands-on experience deploying AI features into production
- Experience with LLMs, OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, or similar APIs
- Understanding of prompt engineering and retrieval-based approaches
- Full stack capability (Angular, Node.js, SQL)
- Strong communication skills—you can explain AI concepts clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience with forecasting or data modeling
- Background in supply chain, operations, or workforce management
- Experience in startup-style or innovation teams
