Data Scientist
Location: Knoxville, TN (Hybrid)
Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Modeling & Analysis
- Design and implement data models to support tech-specific strategic initiatives
- Perform advanced analytics on contractor spend, workforce trends, and operational metrics
- Deliver insights that influence executive-level decisions
- Data Visualization & Reporting
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards in Tableau for TechOps stakeholders
- Enhance reporting on internal survey data (e.g., Officevibe) to deliver deeper organizational insights
- Present findings in a clear, concise, and impactful manner to senior leadership
- Data Management & Engineering Collaboration
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility
- Support data pipeline improvements and scalable analytics solutions
- Machine Learning & Advanced Analytics
- Apply machine learning techniques where applicable to improve forecasting, segmentation, and predictive insights
- Use Python (preferred) for data manipulation, modeling, and automation
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with TechOps, Finance, and HR teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions
- Demonstrate executive presence and strong communication skills when presenting to leadership
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data science,
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations using Tableau
- Demonstrated experience in strategic data modeling and analysis
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical audiences
- Experience analyzing workforce data, contractor spend, or operational metrics
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, etc.)
- Experience with machine learning models and predictive analytics
- Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
