Title: SAP MM/SRM Consultant
Location: LATAM or India (Remote Opportunity)
Type: 6-12 Month Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP MM/SRM Consultant to support procurement, sourcing, inventory management, supplier collaboration, and procure-to-pay operations within a large automotive distribution and retail organization.
The consultant will lead business-process design, SAP configuration, implementation, enhancement, integration, and production-support activities across SAP Materials Management and Supplier Relationship Management. The role requires strong functional expertise as well as extensive experience integrating SAP ECC with suppliers, logistics providers, and external procurement platforms through EDI.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SAP MM/SRM implementations, enhancements, rollouts, and production-support activities.
- Gather procurement, supply chain, inventory, and supplier-management requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
- Configure and support end-to-end procure-to-pay processes.
- Design and optimize procurement, sourcing, purchasing, inventory-management, and supplier-collaboration processes.
- Configure and support procurement functionality, including:
- Purchase requisitions
- Requests for quotation
- Purchase orders
- Scheduling agreements
- Outline agreements and contracts
- Source determination
- Release and approval strategies
- Service procurement
- Configure and support inventory-management processes, including:
- Goods Receipt and Goods Issue
- Transfer postings
- Stock transfers
- Physical inventory
- Cycle counting
- Consignment processing
- Support supplier onboarding, supplier collaboration, sourcing, catalog, and purchasing processes within SAP SRM.
- Design, implement, test, and support EDI integrations between SAP ECC and external suppliers, logistics providers, and procurement platforms.
- Support ANSI X12, EDIFACT, cXML, and XML-based procurement integrations.
- Configure and support procurement EDI transactions, including:
- 850 Purchase Order
- 855 Purchase Order Acknowledgment
- 860 Purchase Order Change
- 865 Purchase Order Change Acknowledgment
- Configure and support logistics and financial EDI transactions, including:
- 856 Advance Ship Notice
- 857 Shipment and Billing Notice
- 810 Invoice
- 820 Payment Remittance
- Collaborate with procurement leaders, supply chain stakeholders, technical teams, middleware specialists, suppliers, and external partners.
- Prepare functional specifications for interfaces, reports, enhancements, forms, and conversions.
- Support unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, cutover, deployment, and post-production stabilization.
- Troubleshoot procurement, inventory, supplier, invoice, IDoc, and EDI-processing issues.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of SAP MM functional consulting experience.
- Strong hands-on configuration experience within SAP ECC.
- Demonstrated experience with SAP SRM or enterprise supplier-management solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of procure-to-pay, purchasing, sourcing, inventory-management, and supplier-collaboration processes.
- Strong experience with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, agreements, source determination, release strategies, and service procurement.
- Experience with inventory movements, physical inventory, cycle counting, stock transfers, and consignment.
- Strong EDI integration experience using ANSI X12, EDIFACT, cXML, or XML-based transactions.
- Hands-on experience supporting purchase order, acknowledgment, advance ship notice, invoice, and payment-remittance transactions.
- Experience with IDocs, partner profiles, message types, output configuration, and interface monitoring.
- Ability to develop functional specifications and collaborate with ABAP and integration teams.
