Job Title: Enterprise Systems Administrator
Job Location: Tallahassee, FL
Job Type: Contract (Thru 6/30/27)
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Systems Administrator to serve as a subject matter expert supporting enterprise infrastructure operations in a large, distributed environment. In this role, you will help optimize and secure Microsoft Azure and AWS resources, administer Windows and Linux servers, and support identity services including Azure Entra ID and Active Directory. You will also develop automation (PowerShell) and create/maintain technical standards and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and maintain processes to optimize Microsoft Azure resources
- Analyze Azure performance, identify contention, and recommend upgrades/changes for optimization
- Perform Azure Entra ID and Active Directory administration and management
- Develop, deploy, and maintain processes to optimize AWS resources
- Administer and configure Azure and AWS security to support staff and user needs
- Assist cloud application owners/admins/users with appropriate access provisioning
- Partner with infrastructure and data center teams on deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes
- Troubleshoot and resolve Windows Server issues with minimal user impact
- Troubleshoot and resolve Linux server issues with minimal user impact
- Write PowerShell scripts to monitor server properties and support AD/Azure management activities
- Produce and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and system documentation
- Research and recommend technical solutions to meet functional requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvement across infrastructure operations
- Build schedules for development/implementation of specific software systems
- Perform additional systems administration duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field OR 4+ years of equivalent experience (education/experience substitution considered year-for-year where applicable)
- 5+ years of Windows Server administration experience, including 3+ years supporting Windows Server 2016+
- 3+ years of Microsoft Azure / cloud experience
- 2+ years of AWS experience
- 5+ years administering:
- Active Directory
- DNS
- Group Policy
- in environments supporting 1,000+ users
- 3+ years of Linux server management experience
- Demonstrated experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts
- Experience in virtual server and cloud environments
- Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third-party applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting a large, distributed user base
- Experience building and managing schedules across multiple concurrent projects
- Experience with Azure Government and AWS cloud environments
- Experience supporting state government initiatives
- Experience tracking/reporting metrics in high-compliance environments
- Experience partnering with technical programming/development teams
- Strong problem-solving mindset with initiative and a “can-do” approach
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups
- Familiarity with IT standards in criminal justice or similarly regulated environments
- Broader technical exposure (e.g., programming, data analytics) is a plus
- Proven team-first attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Compliance / Screening
- Ability to successfully pass a Level II background check
- Completion of required Security Awareness Training within 30 days of starting (if granted network access)
