Title: Director- IAM Product
Location: REMOTE
Type: Contract to Hire

Overview
The Director of IAM Product is a subject matter expert who leads the identity product portfolio: multi-year investment strategy, executive stakeholder relationships, vendor and contract negotiation, and the product organization’s budget, headcount, and sourcing mix. This role manages product staff and is jointly accountable to the CIO and CISO for the security posture of the identity service. Design authority and technical standards remain with the IAM architecture function.

Responsibilities:
 • Own the capability roadmap sequenced against enterprise milestones; make and defend kill/defer decisions with evidence.
 Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy:
 • Secure and enforce capacity commitments from teams outside own reporting line (HR/HCM, ITSM, platform, and application teams).
 • Escalate delivery risk to executives with evidence (dates, deltas, impact).
 Organizational Change Management:
 • Ensure adoption, training, and communications are owned and delivered by receiving teams, not centralized.
 • Drive upstream data-quality accountability into source teams.
 Vendor & Commercial Management:
 • Own vendor relationships, renewals, and licensing; hold platforms and integrators to defined value criteria, including IGA platform value realization within its defined scope.
 Portfolio & Investment:
 • Own multi-year portfolio strategy balancing investment across identity capabilities; define what the program measures and tie metrics to investment cases.
 • Own the program investment case, TCO narrative, product organization budget, headcount planning, and sourcing mix (FTE vs contract).
 Service & Process Ownership:
 • Own joiner/mover/leaver process definition across employee and non-employee populations.
 • Own the access certification program and audit/compliance response (HIPAA, HITRUST).
 • Use demand data to drive capability priorities and the automation roadmap; report cycle-time, risk, and adoption KPIs.

Executive Stakeholder Management:
 • Negotiate program-level commitments between VPs; represent the identity product portfolio to executive leadership.
 • Establish receiving-team change ownership as the institutional norm.

Vendor & Commercial Management:
 • Own sourcing strategy (build/buy/contract), estate rationalization, and executive-level contract negotiation.
 Service Strategy:
 • Own identity service strategy: SLAs, support model, service catalog position, ITSM alignment.

Risk & Exception Management:
 • Retire exception classes through pattern-level remediation and investment.
 People Management:
 • Manage product staff: hiring, performance management, professional development; coach and mentor product owners and product managers.
 Security Accountability:

Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
 • 10 years of product owner or product management experience, including portfolio-level ownership.
 • 5 years in an IAM or security-adjacent domain; 3 years of supervisory experience.
 • Demonstrated ownership of an investment case and budget defended at executive level.
 • Executive-level vendor negotiation experience across a multi-vendor estate.
 • Demonstrated ability to establish organizational change ownership across teams that do not report to them.
 • Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory context for access (HIPAA, HITRUST, audit expectations).
 • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
 • Experience with technology change management delivered through receiving teams.
 • Vendor management experience: licensing, renewals, holding vendors to value criteria.

End client Ecosystem:
 • Portfolio and investment ownership across the Workday / ServiceNow / Entra-Duo / SailPoint estate, including the SailPoint scope-and-value decision cycle at renewal.
 • Executive vendor relationships (Microsoft, SailPoint, ServiceNow) and contract negotiation for the identity estate.
 • Epic-scale program investment experience strongly preferred.”

Certifications:
 • PMP or SAFe a plus.
 • IDPro CIDPRO a plus.
