Title: Epic Beacon Analyst/PM
Location: REMOTE (travel required)
Type: Contract
Overview
Senior Epic pharmacy/clinical applications analyst responsible for design/build/optimization/support of Epic pharmacy workflows across inpatient, ambulatory, and oncology. Partners with pharmacy operations, clinicians, research, and IT to deliver safe, compliant medication-use workflows, strong adoption, and continuous optimization; mentors junior analysts.
Responsibilities
- Lead/support Epic Willow/Beacon/Ambulatory build: medication workflows, treatment plans, formulary, automation integration
- Configure/optimize interfaces supporting retail/specialty/inpatient/oncology/investigational pharmacy (inventory, dispensing, billing, adjudication)
- Translate clinical + research protocols into build; ensure med safety + regulatory compliance
- Workflow analysis, documentation, validation; optimize with Epic upgrades/updates
- Testing leadership: test plans, documentation, troubleshooting, enhancements, go-live validation, downtime planning
- Build/extend CDS tools (alerts, risk mitigation, treatment response documentation)
- Governance/change control input; collaborate on operational + regulatory reporting
- Project execution support (timelines, milestones, meeting participation/presenting)
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (IT or healthcare-related)
- Active Epic certification (or verified proficiency) in Ambulatory + Beacon + Willow
- 5+ years Epic build experience (high complexity; successful implementations)
- 5+ years clinical nursing or pharmacy practice OR related experience with clinical/informatics/automation initiatives
- Experience leading mid-size to large IT projects
- Strong pharmacy + oncology workflow knowledge; med safety / compliance mindset
Preferred / nice-to-haves
- PMP (or similar)
- RN license
- Epic Data Courier Badge
- Academic medical center / NCI-designated cancer center experience
- Pharmacy automation/integration platforms; middleware/interfaces
- Visio; strong facilitation/presentation (physician + ops stakeholders)
