Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Onsite

Job-Type: Contract

Overview:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Junior Accountant with strong experience in construction and cost accounting. This individual will support day-to-day accounting operations including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, job cost allocations, financial reporting, and monthly close. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and brings hands-on knowledge of Sage and/or NetSuite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately apply job costs to projects using construction-specific cost codes
• Prepare and support monthly close processes and financial statement generation
• Perform detailed journal entries and account reconciliations
• Review and code invoices for appropriate project-based allocations
• Partner with project managers and purchasing to track materials and manage door slips
• Process payroll, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• 5–8+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a construction or project-based environment
• Strong background in construction accounting and cost accounting
• Proficiency with Sage and/or NetSuite accounting systems
• Experience preparing full financial statements
• Solid understanding of debits and credits, and ability to accurately apply cost codes to projects
• Familiarity with charts of accounts and general ledger allocations
• CPA or CPA-track is a strong plus

• Extremely organized and detail-driven
• Comfortable with structured, repetitive tasks
• Hands-on and willing to engage with physical accounting processes (e.g., printed checks, door slips)
• Motivated to learn and grow within a construction-specific accounting environment
