Overview:
A client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support enterprise applications and infrastructure within a secure cloud environment. The role will partner with software developers, system operators, and IT teams to manage deployments, automate infrastructure, enforce governance, and support all stages of the application lifecycle. This is a hands-on role that blends DevOps engineering with system administration, cloud provisioning, and cross-functional collaboration.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Bridge gaps between development, testing, and operations teams

  • Support project management workflows using tools like Jira, GitHub, and AWS DevOps

  • Troubleshoot issues related to applications, migrations, conversions, and deployments

  • Enforce governance and security standards through defined security guardrails

  • Evaluate logs, follow procedures, and document for knowledge transfer

  • Collaborate across departments to deploy applications using repeatable best practices

  • Manage code releases and infrastructure in cloud environments

  • Lead by example with professionalism, adaptability, and self-motivation

  • Define workflows, resource needs, and infrastructure for application teams

  • Create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines

  • Provision, maintain, and monitor cloud resources and application health

  • Support cost estimation, accurate billing, and reporting

  • Ensure compliance with internal and industry-standard policies

  • Participate in strategic project planning and impact assessment

  • Assist with testing, deployment, disaster recovery, and documentation

  • Maintain continuity and cross-training through up-to-date system documentation


Required Experience & Skills:

  • Proficiency with scripting for infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, Bash, CloudFormation, Python)

  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases

  • Understanding of APIs, key management, cloud services, networking, and firewalls

  • Knowledge of cloud governance and infrastructure security practices

  • Associate-level cloud certification or ability to obtain within 12 months

  • Familiarity with modern development methodologies and DevOps practices


Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting secure or regulated environments

  • Disaster Recovery and high-availability systems planning

  • Exposure to cross-agency DevOps collaboration and documentation frameworks
