Location: Panama City, Panama or San Pedro Sula, Honduras

Job Description
We are looking for a Developer that can support the modernization of legacy Adobe ColdFusion / Lucee platform into a modern Golang-based microservices architecture. This role is ideal for a developer who is comfortable working in existing systems, understands legacy codebases, and is eager to help migrate functionality to scalable, maintainable Go services.

As a Developer, you will work alongside Senior Developers to gradually move business logic, APIs, and data access from ColdFusion to Golang, while ensuring system stability during the transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance existing Adobe ColdFusion / Lucee applications
• Analyze and understand legacy ColdFusion code, business logic, and data flows
• Assist in migrating features from ColdFusion to Golang microservices
• Develop new backend services in Golang
• Collaborate on designing REST and gRPC APIs
• Work with MySQL and Oracle databases, including queries, schema understanding, and data migrations
• Refactor legacy logic into clean, testable Go services
• Write unit and integration tests for both legacy and new services
• Support incremental rollout strategies (strangler pattern, feature toggles)
• Collaborate with Senior Developers on architecture, best practices, and migration strategy
• Conduct code reviews and establish standards for development, component modularity, and documentation

Technical Requirements & Experience

• 2–4 years of backend development experience
• Practical experience with Golang and microservices
• Solid understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, and backend fundamentals
• Experience working with relational databases (MySQL and/or Oracle)
• Ability to read, debug, and understand existing codebases
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Experience with Docker containers
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience delivering production-grade, scalable applications
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written, 100% Bilingual preferred)
