Job Title: Staff Enterprise Application Engineer
Job Type: Contract / Contract – to – hire
Job Location: Remote
Our client is add a new member to their team to support their explosive growth. This role sits at the center of how engineering teams design, build, and deliver complex systems. You’ll act as the technical backbone for a set of enterprise applications that support systems engineering and day-to-day engineering operations. The work is hands-on and impactful—building, integrating, and supporting platforms that directly influence reliability, quality, delivery timelines, and cost efficiency.
You’ll work closely with systems engineers and program teams to ensure these tools are dependable, secure, and scalable. Beyond keeping systems running, the role is about improving how work gets done—simplifying workflows, reducing friction, and helping teams operate more effectively over time.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll own the technical design and evolution of several core engineering applications, from architecture and configuration through integration and ongoing support. This includes modernizing older platforms, connecting tools across the engineering ecosystem, and ensuring they perform reliably as demands grow.
A significant part of the role involves translating real engineering workflows into practical system capabilities—automation, controls, metrics, and integrations that make teams more efficient and compliant without slowing them down. You’ll also take responsibility for operational health, handling upgrades, performance tuning, incident response, and security updates with minimal disruption.
You’ll partner with product owners and engineering stakeholders to shape roadmaps, prioritize work, define release criteria, and support testing and rollouts. Continuous improvement is a constant focus: reducing manual effort, standardizing approaches, and eliminating waste wherever possible.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll document solutions clearly, create reusable job aids, and help establish scalable support models. You’ll also mentor other engineers and serve as a go-to escalation point for complex or high-impact issues, guiding root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.
