Cloud Architect
Location: LATAM (remote)
Contract
Position Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Architect to support a portfolio of Azure-based modernization, migration, and delivery initiatives. This is a hands-on delivery architecture role focused on execution—not enterprise strategy.
This individual will operate in high-visibility, fast-moving environments, helping bring structure to ambiguity and driving initiatives from assessment through implementation. You will partner closely with engineering, platform, networking, and security teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture and delivery planning for Azure modernization and migration initiatives
- Drive adoption of private networking models in Azure, including firewalls, NSGs, routing, and segmentation
- Lead migration of MuleSoft integrations to Azure API Management, evaluating when to re-architect into AKS-based services
- Partner with security and platform teams to standardize API endpoints and edge routing (Imperva)
- Support retirement of legacy integration patterns (SFTP, FTP, ECS), defining target-state solutions using Stonebranch and AKS jobs
- Provide architectural guidance for .NET modernization (Framework ? .NET 6/8/10), including feasibility and impact analysis
- Review and validate solution designs across application, infrastructure, security, and operational readiness
- Collaborate with engineering teams on implementation details across Docker, Helm, Bicep, and API specifications
- Assess and challenge implementation approaches (C#/.NET) to ensure alignment with architecture
- Partner with Information Security and governance teams to move designs through approval processes
- Present architecture decisions, tradeoffs, and risks to leadership and governance boards
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly communication
- Operate effectively in ambiguous, high-pressure environments with compressed timelines
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Solutions Architect, Delivery Architect, or Application Architect in enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (applications, integrations, delivery architecture)
- Experience migrating MuleSoft ? Azure API Management
- Strong understanding of API vs. non-API integration patterns and re-architecture strategies (e.g., AKS workers)
- Experience with Azure API Management, including policies, lifecycle, and OpenAPI/Swagger standards
- Solid understanding of Azure networking (private endpoints, NSGs, routing, segmentation)
- Experience working with Imperva or similar API gateway / edge security platforms
- Familiarity with Stonebranch or comparable job orchestration tools
- Experience with AKS-based workloads (jobs, workers, containerized services)
- Ability to review and assess Docker, Helm, and Bicep artifacts
- Ability to read and validate C# / .NET implementations
- Experience supporting .NET modernization initiatives
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-impact environments
- Experience partnering with Information Security and governance teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in highly governed enterprise environments with formal architecture review processes
- Background in legacy system modernization and integration retirement
- Experience working across application, infrastructure, network, and security teams
- Familiarity with containerized application delivery in Azure
Working Style
- Comfortable stepping into unclear or evolving environments and creating structure
- Able to balance architecture quality with delivery pragmatism
- Not an on-call role, but requires participation in occasional evening cutovers (10 PM – 1 AM)
