Job Title:  Engineering Manager, Emerging Technologies
Location: On-Site, Salt Lake City
Job-Type: 2 year Contract
Salary: $200,000 + Bonus

We are looking for a high-agency Engineering Leader to spearhead a dedicated incubator team focused on the future of FinTech. This is a “Player-Coach” role where you will dive into the code while steering the strategic direction of our emerging tech portfolio. Your goal is to build disruptive, AI-native customer solutions while re-engineering our internal development pipelines for maximum velocity.

Core Responsibilities:

• Tactical Leadership: Direct a multidisciplinary engineering squad, fostering a culture of rapid prototyping and technical rigor.
• AI Implementation: Architect and launch AI/ML-driven products and integrate generative AI tools directly into the SDLC to automate testing and code generation.
• Infrastructure Oversight: Oversee cloud-native development (Multi-cloud environment) ensuring all builds are scalable, secure, and resilient.
• High-Stakes Compliance: Navigate the intersection of “move fast and break things” with the “zero-fail” requirements of a heavily regulated sector.
• Stakeholder Sync: Act as the technical translator for executive leadership, turning abstract concepts into functional, audit-ready software.

What You Bring:

• The Hybrid Background: 8+ years in engineering, specifically moving from a Senior/Staff individual contributor role into people management.
• Startup DNA: You’ve survived the high-growth startup grind and know how to build with lean resources.
• Regulated Industry Wisdom: Professional experience in Fintech, HealthTech, or similar sectors where data privacy and compliance are non-negotiable.
• Applied AI Mastery: Real-world experience shipping products that use LLMs or ML, plus a track record of using AI to boost team productivity (e.g., automated refactoring/DevOps).
• Tech Stack: Proficiency in Python or Java, modern web frameworks, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
