IT Project Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support a portfolio of complex technology initiatives within a large-scale maritime new-build environment. This individual will coordinate the planning, installation, integration, testing, and deployment readiness of numerous shipboard technology products and applications as new vessels move through construction and into operational service.

This is not a traditional single-project or office-based Project Manager role. The selected individual may oversee 25 or more concurrent technology workstreams, working across product teams, engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, vendors, contractors, shipyard personnel, and operational stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, persistent, comfortable influencing teams without direct authority, and capable of maintaining momentum within a fast-moving construction and deployment environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and execution of multiple concurrent shipboard technology initiatives throughout the vessel construction and delivery lifecycle.
  • Coordinate approximately 25 or more products, applications, or technical workstreams at a given time.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, action items, dependencies, risks, and readiness plans.
  • Partner with product, engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, operations, procurement, logistics, vendors, and shipyard teams.
  • Drive installation, integration, testing, inspection, cutover, and deployment-readiness activities.
  • Follow up consistently with stakeholders to ensure assigned actions and required documentation are completed.
  • Identify schedule conflicts, resource constraints, technical dependencies, and delivery risks.
  • Escalate blockers and provide clear recommendations to program leadership.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and communicate project status, risks, decisions, and next steps.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement, delivery, installation sequencing, and technical support activities.
  • Support issue resolution in a rapidly changing environment with evolving priorities and deadlines.
  • Prepare executive-level status reports, presentations, schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation across multiple interconnected projects.
  • Support vessel go-live activities and post-launch stabilization when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant experience managing complex technology, infrastructure, systems integration, or deployment projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage numerous parallel workstreams rather than one narrowly focused project.
  • Strong project scheduling, risk management, stakeholder management, and issue-resolution skills.
  • Experience coordinating large, cross-functional teams consisting of technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and make progress within ambiguous or constantly changing environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to hold teams accountable for commitments.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without having direct authority over them.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally for extended assignments.
  • Ability to obtain all required passports, visas, residency documents, tax identification numbers, and work authorizations.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive internationally.
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays during critical delivery periods.
  • PMP or comparable project management certification is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cruise line, maritime, shipyard, naval, offshore, or vessel-construction experience.
  • Experience supporting new builds, dry docks, vessel modernization, or shipboard technology deployments.
  • Familiarity with shipboard applications, enterprise infrastructure, communications systems, cybersecurity, networking, or operational technology.
  • Experience working with distributed international teams.
  • Previous experience living and working outside the United States for extended periods.
  • Experience coordinating more than 20 simultaneous products, applications, or technical workstreams.
  • Experience within highly regulated, safety-sensitive, or mission-critical environments.
