The Data Engineer plays a critical role in building and supporting our customer’s Enterprise Data Warehouse to deliver strategic business value to the organization. The candidate selected will work in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues ranging from Web Developers and Data Analysts to Product Owners and Operations Specialists. In addition, the candidate will manage multiple competing priorities and effectively communicate changes to mission critical systems.  They are responsible for implementing robust solutions for maintaining and scaling enterprise applications. Primarily, work will be done utilizing technologies such as WhereScape or Coalesce in tandem with SQL Server and Snowflake.

Position Responsibilities   

  • Design, develop and maintain Data Warehousing and Reporting Systems 
  • Consistently evolve data model & data schema based on business and engineering requirements 
  • Collaborate with staff in performing data quality initiatives and code review 
  • Consult with data subject matter experts to document and address data quality issues 
  • Troubleshoot production support issues and resolve them per established SLAs 
  • Extract data from disparate sources and transform into internal formats for loading into our platform 
  • Perform technical analysis and requirements definition with our partners on service integrations 
  • Break down complex, ambiguous, abstract requirements and into smaller components
  • Collaborate with other team members in the execution of large-scale projects 

Required Education and Skills  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field 
  • 2+ years of experience with design and development of data structures and ETL processes 
  • 2+ years of experience building clean, maintainable, and well-tested code 
  • 2+ years of experience with Tableau development, and integration with existing data engineering assets 
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the company 
  • Authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
  • Fluent in T-SQL

Preferred Qualifications   

  • 2+ years of experience with implementation, strategy, and maintenance of large scale ETL systems
  • Understanding of quality assurance and data quality principals as applied to an ETL architecture 
  • Experience using Azure, Salesforce, Snowflake, Tableau and Alteryx technology
  • Experience in data science, analytics, or data QA
