Job Title: Product Owner / Technical Business Analyst
Location: Fully Remote (U.S. based, EST core hours 9am–4pm)
Type: Contract
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and technically capable Product Owner / Business Analyst to support the initial phase of a Workday HCM implementation, focused on HR (People and Payroll). This is a mission-critical role for a high-impact project, with a go-live date of January 1st. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical acumen and product ownership expertise to guide a team of software engineers through discovery, backlog development, and delivery.
Our client is a leading physician services organization that provides outsourced clinical staffing and administrative services to hospitals and healthcare facilities across the United States. They specialize in emergency medicine, hospitalist services, anesthesia, and post-acute care, among other medical specialties. With a focus on quality patient care and operational efficiency, our client partners with hospitals to improve clinical outcomes and healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements.
- Work closely with a Scrum team of backend/middle-tier developers (.NET, C#, SQL, API) to ensure consistent and efficient delivery.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring proper prioritization and grooming.
- Analyze existing legacy systems and endpoints to determine opportunities for improvement or integration.
- Lead discovery sessions and remove roadblocks for the development team.
- Contribute to solution design with a focus on scalability, performance, and simplicity.
- Maintain alignment with project timelines and ensure deliverables meet go-live milestones.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner and/or Technical Business Analyst.
- Strong experience working with backend development teams—particularly around APIs, integrations, and data workflows.
- Experience with Workday HCM, especially in HR or Payroll modules, is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence within cross-functional teams and hold stakeholders accountable.
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently without overcomplicating solutions.
- Previous experience working with .NET, C#, SQL, and API-based systems is a strong plus.
- Experience with legacy system integration and endpoint analysis is a plus.
Additional Details:
- Remote position – candidates must reside in the U.S. and be available during core EST hours (9am–4pm).
- Healthcare experience is not required—focus is strictly on back-office systems.
