Accounting Manager Location: [Northern Virginia] Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site (Monday–Friday)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day to day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with accounting principles. This role will lead a small team, providing mentorship and guidance to two direct reports while managing day-to-day accounting functions. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative office environment and brings a strategic mindset to financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting

• Supervise and mentor two direct reports, ensuring accuracy and professional development

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

• Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business objectives

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency

• Manage audits and liaise with external auditors as needed

• Handle tax filings and ensure timely compliance with state and federal requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations

• Excellent leadership and communication skills with a commitment to team development

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel

• Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday in a dynamic office environment
