Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Remote – EST hours
Work Authorization: USC/GC Holder
Job Type: 6-month Contract to Hire
Job Summary
This role will help shape our client’s Data Warehouse and Data Strategy for current and future implementations. The Sr Data Engineer will work in close collaboration with leaders to translate Business asks into IT solutions. This role will work on building, maintaining, and improving the client’s data environment and all ETL pipelines. They will contribute by identifying the right solution for both existing and new requirements by enhancing / converting existing systems or creating newer solutions.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Design and build robust healthcare platform on MS SQL Server.
- Analyze and integrate healthcare payer data and Clinical EHR data.
- Follow best SDLC practices for developing IT solutions.
- Document and communicate strategy used for Design and Development.
- Develop and deliver on key milestones on roadmap for Data Warehouse.
- Automate manual reporting and develop novel reporting using the Microsoft BI stack and other reporting tools.
- Work collaboratively with our client’s MedEcon team, Infrastructure team and Integrated Clinical Team to define, create, document, and implement ad-hoc reports/analytics.
- Conduct analyses using tools such as SQL and Microsoft Excel.
- Organize, clarify, and translate business processes into reporting requirements from a diverse set of end users (e.g. executives, clinicians).
- Interpret healthcare data to translate requirements into IT solutions.
- Relate disparate data sets to extract actionable insights.
- Support business needs through the development of ad-hoc and standardized reports as requested by the executive leadership team, as well as internal and external customers.
- Troubleshoot and align the reporting needs of end users to available data sets.
- Limited/occasional travel for onsite team meetings etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, statistics, mathematics, health sciences, or related field or equivalent work experience required.
- 5+ years of combined working experience on Microsoft stack including SSIS and SSRS
- Preferred 5 years of health care data experience
- Preferred 2 years of Python experience
- Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
- Technical knowledge of relational databases (SQL server), querying, data warehouses, and decision support tools required.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction and/or guidance.
- Capable of successfully balancing numerous and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating with executives strongly preferred.
- Insatiable curiosity.
- Highly organized with strong documentation skills.
- Passion for data and the act of transforming data to achieve results.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.

This job operates in a professional office environment and/or in a remote capacity. This role routinely uses general office equipment.
