Senior Software Engineer (Top Secret Clearance Required)

Location: Aberdeen, MD (need to be commutable with a days notice but mostly remote)
Clearance Level: Active Top Secret (TS)

?? About the Role:

We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our mission-driven team. In this role, you’ll architect, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade software solutions leveraging Java, Spring Framework, and SQL databases. Your work will directly contribute to national security and defense systems.

? Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement software applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Optimize and maintain complex SQL databases for performance and scalability
• Collaborate across teams to integrate secure APIs and cloud-native services
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive software excellence
• Translate business and security requirements into robust software solutions
• Ensure software complies with security protocols aligned with Top Secret clearance guidelines

? Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen with active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
• Deep expertise in Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security, etc.)
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database design (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle)
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and system architecture
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Prior work in federal or defense sectors
