Financial Analyst-Large International Law Firm

Location-NYC, DC or South Florida

This position is responsible for supporting the finance and accounting team by providing data management, reporting, and analysis as required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Run, analyze, and distribute existing management reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc basis.

· Identify opportunities for improvement to existing reporting and reporting processes and implement changes.

· Design, create, and analyze new reports based on management requirements, utilizing tools including Excel and Power BI.

· Provide information and support as requested directly to the Firm’s CFO, Controller, Director of Tax & Finance, and other Firm management.

· Conduct quality control audits to ensure data complies with expected standards.

· Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate data, identifying trends, and providing periodic reporting and analysis.

· Support year-end accounting processes.

· Attend periodic in-person working meetings and other management meetings as requested.

· 2 – 3 years in a finance-related reporting role.

· High proficiency using Excel.

· Experience using Power BI and developing reports using both Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder.

· Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to obtain, cleanse/normalize, manipulate, summarize, interpret, and present large amounts of financial and performance data to executive management.

· Good understanding of financial processes.

· General knowledge of accounting operations, including general ledgers, debits, and credits.

· Ability to identify opportunities to improve existing processes.

· Capability to juggle competing needs effectively.

· Ability to present oneself in a calm, professional manner under pressure.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with the Finance team and management.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, statistics, computer science or a related field. Three years of experience with reporting analysis highly preferred but not required. Other types of professional experience will be considered. Knowledge of applications such as Power BI and SQL preferred. Law firm experience preferred but not required.
